They want money to renew the warranty for your computer software. If you have bought a computer with Windows installed or have the serial number for your software... THIS IS FRAUD! The telephone number listed as Bradford, and line rental traced to Cable & Wireless. Report it! Do something to stop this.
This number caller purports to be from BT. The caller tried to persuade me that a) they were from BT and b) that cyber-hackers were piggy-backing my internet connection to download illicit material without having to reveal who they are. I questioned them e.g. saying 'why should they need to use my line?' since it's so easy to download stuff anonymously from anywhere in most countries around the world. Exactly the same as previous comment but it was Sean Johnston that called first and then when I expressed concern he asked if I would like to speak to a more senior person. He repeated word for word what Sean had said and wanted me to log in to a laptop. I cut the call and heard no more. I have concern that a more vulnerable person may be sucked into this so please spread the word.
