SCAM wanted authorisation for payment from account on ther pretext some activity not normal on account .

Claim to be fro the bank notifying me of two transactions and a press 1 or 2 to activate or contact fraud team. My bank has a different way of contacting so another scam call.

I see already previous comments about calls from this UK number made to Portuguese numbers. Mine included so it must be spam. But why targeting Portugal?

Automated call stating that an official letter from HMRC tax is on route to me and legal action is being taken. Asks you to press 1 to speak to an official representative. Got to be a scam, I'm employed by the NHS and all my tax & National insurance is sorted by them. Blocked the number, I'll worry when the "official letter" turns up!

I had a call this afternoon apparently from this number 08000234567, which I know is the number of the Financial Ombudsman's Office, when the caller said he was from the fraud dept of my bank. I had called the Financial Ombudsman earlier in the day on that number. It did not feel right and when I challenged the caller he put down the phone. Somebody may be able to pick up the numbers of those who have called the FOO? I will tell the FOO by email as their phone system takes too long to get through!

Another scam call from "The Advisors", trying to sell premium savings on life insurance. 'Paul' tells me their website is at theadvisors.co.uk - visiting that results in a rather empty webpage from the domain owner trying to sell the domain for £800. No proper website in place! A man with a very strong accent (difficult to understand) spoke about iPhones. I asked where he got my number from and he said 'from your provider, Vodaphone'. I'm not with Vodaphone so I told him that's untrue and he must be lying. He then proceeded to call me a liar - twice! Bizarre phone call. Potentially trying to gain personal data. Blocked.
