My answerphone is permanently on to intercept this sort of thing. These people have started leaving malicious and abusive messages. Thought this went beyond telemarketing so reported them to police. SCAM / SPAM When answered phone, a recorded message began. It got as far as the word "Amazon" and I hung up. Probably the Amazon Prime scam doing the rounds again! I really wish there was some way for the government or telephone companies to stop people making all of these scam calls. I block the numbers but they must use lots of other ones as every time I try to search a number it hasn't previously been reported.

SCAM Automated call from "Amazon", confirming renewal of Amazon Prime for one year for £71 plus. Given options of "Press 1 for this, 2 for that." Of course I have not renewed an Amazon Prime membership - didn't have one to renew. I said nothing, pressed no buttons, and after about 30 seconds of silence the line dropped. It's likely they would have asked for my cc details so the could confirm/reverse the charge; I'll never know :-)
