TAXES / HMRC Received a recorded message from female with American accent, (similar voice to many other recorded calls threatening legal action). It purported to be from HMRC and legal proceedings have been instituted against me. Told me to press button 1 for further information. This is DANGEROUS THREATENING BOGUS CALL. It’s on a letter that appears to be spam communication about rewards for playing the National Lottery regularly. Name and address on letter. I don’t do the lottery online. So just checking it out.

I answered the call and was greeted by an automated message which suggested they were calling about potential fraud activity on my Visa. I don’t give out my home number and my card providers use my mobile so I know this was a scam call
