Text telling me my EE billing details are wrong asking me to click on a link to verify information! I don't thinks so! my bills are totally up to date so how can they do this!! really annoying - suspected scam/fraud. Who knows what would happen if i had followed the link in the text??

Scam. Definitely. So-called call from "security department". I asked 'security department' of what? The woman (Asian voice - lots of background "office" noise) repeated, 'This is the Security Department!' to which I repeated "Of what?!" She hung up. Point made. Case closed. Catch the bastards!

The remarkable thing is this is just one of a number of calls I ve had about a minor car accident I had about a year ago. My phone number was given to my insurance company ( a reputable company I ve always thought ) someone passed it on to these chancers. We talk about the rising menace of fraud and scams, this practise of selling on customers details has to stop. Whatever happened to the data protection act?

Automated message purporting to be from Amazon Prime stating that £39.99 was about to be taken out of my account. Instructed to press 1 to speak to a representative. Clearly, that would instigate and expensive return call… Plus they woke my 86 year old Mother who is very ill from her afternoon sleep.

I had daily hang up calls from them then eventually spoke to a human who wanted to do a 20 min financial questionnaire but gave me the Market Research Society phone number so I said if they didn t take my name/number off their data base that I d report them to the MRS. I had a letter from Bluestone Credit Management (or so I thought), the other day. I am now thinking it could be a scam letter because when I did some checking on the internet the phone number (01142 317 413), on the letter was completely different then the phone number given on Bluestone’s internet site. I am now going to forward a copy of the letter to HMRC to see if they can confirm if it is fake.

Had a call today saying that they were a new company setting up in my local area and they already had a company in Leeds. Asked me if I drank water. Said no - he was surprised! Then said he didn t blame me. Asked if I would answer a few simple questions to be entered into a prize draw for a holiday. The phone rang 15 times before I answered. Sounded like other people doing similar calls in the background. Accented man, knew my name and address!!!!?? Said my washing machine warranty was expired. I bought a new one within the last 6 months so this is rubbish. Very worrying that these people have addresses too!! Frightening for people living alone like myself.
