These days it is well worth having caller display on a land line - mobiles have it anyway. So for all these callers, 0845-, unavailable, withheld, etc., just lift the receiver and drop it back immediately, or, on a mobile, answer the call and immediately shut it down. This stops answerphone message.

Missed the call. The call came in at was just before 9pm. Even (I’m not saying this is but) if this was a valued call to be made, to ring at such an hour, is a joke.
