Called today and asked for me by name. Sounded suspicious I did not acknowledge that but asked "who is this?" a couple of times and the line then went dead. Rang 1471 to get the number and then called it back with 141 in front of it and the line; thus this is one of latest scams where to callers hide behind a false but apparently valid so as to get round call identity phones

Just received a call. When I answered, a beeped sounded, an automatic voice said "goodbye" and the connection ended. Told me they were from BT Cyber Security but we are not with BT. Rang Back on 004930268864 and said he had just phoned. I said not with BT but he said he knew but put down the phone. The number rang twice but no message left on answerphone.
The caller introduced as from Revenue and Customs and says there is a tax fraud case registered under my name. The message seemed to be a pre-recorded one. They wanted me to press option numbers but i hung up.
Says they're carphone warehouse and are you looking for an upgrade, but very clearly just a scam callcentre.
