Person with an Asian accent (after a delay) introducing himself as Peter Thompson purporting to be from BT claimed someone in America was using my IP address and accessing emails . Asked what devices I was using to access the internet. The scammer wasn t afraid to argue back aggressively when I told him in no uncertain terms I knew this was an attempt to hack in to the internet.

This number has offered me a funeral plan, a pension plan, then today life insurance. The person calling has a distinctive Welsh accent so I'm on my guard straight away. Have asked her to remove my number but I won't hold my breath. Absolute nuisance!

Just had a call from "BT". Told me to put my computer on as there was error messages from our broadband. I asked why the genuine BT engineer who visited yesterday hadn't picked anything up. He was stumped - off script. He told me I needed to log in to my computer. I asked him why my computer was needed to sort out the hub. He (Asian) asked me if I spoke English!!!!! Oh how I laughed and said "what did you just say?". He then told me I was stupid and hung up.
