Suspected scammer tried to buy a car using PayPal.
Claimed to be from Vodafone. Said a SIM swap had been requested and wanted to check this was correct. I said it was not correct. He then said he suspected my account had been hacked and that he would sent an SMS with a code which I had to read to him. The SMS came from Vodafone and had a code with text reading 'this code gives access to your account, do not share it'. The caller was a scammer and wanted access to my account. I hung up.

Claim to be Virign Media, saying there's a problem with my broadband. Hung up when i reponded 10 to number of lights on the modem. Disappointed about that, wamt to have a rant, just for fun. Bunch of muppets. Annoying, possible dangerous if you did/do a screen share (yes looking at you - windows users).

The caller said we had banned loft insulation. Even though they didn't ask if we had any or which kind. They said we had to let their surveyor come and inspect the loft. I asked several times who they were and she kept saying we work with lots of companies. I said I would get it looked at myself and hung up.

Called number back and it belongs to an elderly lady so someone is cloning her landline number. Tried to explain but she didn't understand.

Mmmm how did they know my number? why didn't I get an official letter/mmmm. No surprise really it's a fraud scam, the government doesn't text you to tell you they are giving you money,and as far as I know will never do this anyway. Why aren't they traced and shut down?
Called them back. Automated Voice with an American accent said Welcome to ALTC gave two options. One to connect to agent , two to put my number on a don’t call list. Did neither. Hung up and blocked number on phone

Didnt introduce himself, asked for me by name, said he was calling about my debts ( I dont have any so knew he was lying) I asked him to tell me about my debts, he said I was to tell him. Received call from Automated message claiming to be HMRC chasing TAX and would start legal action soon if nothing is received, press 1 to speak to an officer. Checked HMRC, portal, email and letters and nothing wrong. Appears to be a scam but cannot confirm due to HMRC not working Saturdays :/
