So then I asked him what time was it.... He hung up If he was genuine would any of the above give him reason to hang up? No it's a scam

The number 0800 862 0818 is genuine, but everyone should always consider if a number is spoofed - try to get them to tell you something about you that they know already. Eg if they ask for your email, tell them a fake one and see if they know it's fake. If they don't, they may not be genuine.
