SCAM Message popped up on my laptop stating that it was in danger of being hacked and had been temporarily blocked. The error message suggested I called a helpline (number stated 020) said to be Microsoft Security. I rang, lady answered (Indian/pakistan accent) lots of noise in the background, she wanted me to depress the windows and the letter R key on my laptop. was evasive when I asked what would happen. Can't think why a bank would use a mobile phone number to text messages to it's customers. I'm not even a customer of HSBC and the location map of the number shows it in the middle of a field of nowhere!
SCAM calling trying to be Carphone warehouse. I know this was going to be a fraud a guy with indian accent called before. They keep changing landline numbers and I keep blocking them I have told the guy on the phone not interested. At 8.20am I answered my land line thinking it must be important and was a local number. It was a automated message saying ‘thank you for your payment of £299 for anti virus, if any problems please call our free phone number’ The number I’m afraid I didn’t get and it didn’t say any company either. I’m sure this is a scam of some sort that they catch you when you call to complain so very much aimed at the trusting, naive or elderly.
