SCAM / SPAM Very suspicious call recieved to my mobile claiming that I had placed an order for £5000 of books and that they were ready for payment and despatch. Thankfully I didn't give them any information and when I started questioning them, they hung up.

THis is fake. I had a text pretending to be from my bank, about a transaction. My bank says no such transaction, and they did not send this message. Advice: do not call the number on the text, call your bank using the number printed on the back of your bank card.

Rang me twice. When I picked up they said it was from Curry’s PC world, saying they had a promotions for phones and asked what phone I was using now. I said I wasn’t interested, and they hung up without saying anything else. It was quite hard to hear as their environment was loud, sounded kind of like a call centre in India. I’m not a Curry’s shopper so I doubt the legitimacy of this, probably a scam.

They phone me everyday now, maybe up to 3 times a day. everything i phone back, its a different company name, and says their offices are closed.
Was called by this number at 3PM, I missed it and it went to voicemail. The voicemail was muffled, had music playing in the background, with a woman speaking what sounded like Chinese, though it was hard to tell because the audio quality wasn't very good. Called as it s a local number to me (Amesbury) I picked up as could have been a trustworthy number. No sound after repeatedly answering "Hello??" after 10 secs heard garbled nonsense and the line went dead. Tried calling back had 20 secs of silence and no ring tone.

Caller told me she was from the company I bought my PC from & there were issues due to downloads. She asked me to go to my computer...... at that point I realised she was trying to access my PC illegally. I asked her if she was going to try & extract financial information from me & she hung up.
