A woman with heavily accented English called me this morning from a number with our local dialling code saying the call was from BT and there were reports that we were having trouble with the internet. No problems at all and I said so. She asked me to try the internet, so I told her I couldn’t hear her very well. She cut the call. Funny that! I phoned the number and was told it wasn’t in service!!

Claiming to be BT Openreach, but command of the english language was pitiful. Think she was trying to say there was a problem with the BT server and that I was having internet issues. Shame she picked the wrong guy as I am not having internet issues!

Marketing for JD Williams. The caller asked me if I was a Mr or a Mrs, which didn t get things off to a good start. Then started arguing with me when I questioned who they were, promised to call back later, even though it was obvious that I didn t want that (it felt more like a threat than a nicety) and put the phone down on me when I was in the middle of trying to explain that the person they were trying to speak to didn t live at my house anymore. They call you and you cant call them back! No message left from them either. When you try to call back the number does not exist and it does not connect you. A few of these outgoing numbers only around.

Automated message when you pick up that says ive avoided tax of some sort and that I need to press 1 to speak to someone to avoid it going to court. After pressing 1 it just goes silent and when you call it back it just says persons phone is switched off. Im based in Wales and call is from Manchester so will assume its a scam
