Covid19 apparently from track and trace

Claimed to be from my bank and asked for clearance for a payment I had supposedly made for nearly £1000.

This number called my landline this morning. Indian/Pakistani lady claiming to be from BT. Said my internet speed wasn't up to scratch and did I know how to check the speed. I said I did and checked regularly. She asked when I last checked and what was the speed. I said I checked yesterday and the speed was was what I expected. The call was then ended abruptly from their end. Now blocked.

Robin called. Sounded foreign. Said he was calling from the call blocking and scam department. When I asked what company he was calling from he said "the national call blocking company limited" i said there was no such thing. Curious how this was 24 hours after "microsoft" called me and I told them I didn't believe them..... Told him the only legit call blocking was The Telephone Preference Service, and he hung up.

SCAM This number was the first of three (others were 0208 888 7676 and 01782 254545) which I received on 17th and 18th July 2023, telling me I had security problems with users accessing my computer files. SCAM - initial recording warned my electric was going to be shut off in a few minutes. When I transferred to a "representative" it was what sounded like an Indian man. He asked my name and verified my address. Funny thing is, my electric bill is in a family members name. He told me the "balance" and the amount was incorrect because I have my bill in front of me and an a real call wouldn't give me info since the account isn't in my name without other info. I am suspicious of this number because after receiving a possible ?phishing call I made a 1471 call to discover the number the call came from I was given this number, which I rang. It was answered by a man who told me he was in Kent and i told him why I had called his number but nothing else(my name or location) i suggested he should look into how this could have happened and that his line might be compromised somehow.

Fraud They said I had £87K in a cryptocurrency account with them ('Blockchain Support') I've never invested in crypto, so it must be some sort of phishing scam. I think they got my name and number via the June 2023 data breech at BBC etc.

Fraud - pretends to be HM Revenue Customs and claims that HMRC are investigating you as an individual for tax fraud. When challenged immediately hang up the phone.

SCAM Do not pass anything, Do not answer, it's an automated answer machine. Saying your Vodafone will be out of service, press for English or Chinese. Then speaks Chinese. I automatically hanged up without pressing anything due to me not being with Vodafone and all of it sounded so weird, fake and scam. DO NOT ANSWER NOR PASS ANYTHING

This number came up on a pop up box when trying to install a new version of Microsoft Office on a Mac. It said you needed to ring the number for help or you would lose the product. This is not the case and this company has no affiliation with Microsoft. It is a scam to get your credit card info and gain access to your computer. Run a separate Google search and ring Microsoft’s real helpline number if this happens to you. If you’ve already given them access to your computer ring Action Fraud.
