When I answered the phone I could hear the sounds of a call centre in the background but no one spoke to me, even when I told them that I could hear them and had noted the number down. I hung up as they were obviously not going to talk to me.

A foreign sounding man introduced himself as John Parker and said I was due for refund of bank charges. I gave him my dob (I recently claimed charges and for a second thought it was genuine.)I would never give bank details and said so. I just said Lloyds bank(not true).He said his boss will phone me today. They called this morn and I didn t answer. Dreading the phone ringing now and worried giving my dob was a dangerous thing. He didn t swear but got more impatient as the call went on.

Called asking for non-executive Director by name - "it s Johnny from the surveyors at Altus" were the words he used. I walked through to our Director and used the same words. Our Director said he won t take the call as he has no ongoing business with Altus and no imminent need. I returned to Johnny and advised this, to which he said "did you tell him it s a financial matter?". I responded, "No, because you didn t say it was. But he won t take the call". PPI automated call. Will probably be followed fairly soon after with a call from a private number with some snotty nosed git who knows more about you than you d like. Don t engage them. If you do have a PPI claim print the form from the FSA website and send it yourself. Thats all these guys do anyway and they take 20% (or more) of whatever settlement you get.....

This company called me to discuss my online presence so the guy said. Caller sounded very desperate and said he could have my business featured on Google page 1 and offered unlimited clicks and get me more business. What the guy didn t realise nor ask is that I have ran these adwords marketing campaigns before for various businesses I have and for the £150.00 fixed fee he said it would cost, my average click cost is £4+ and would literally get no work from this amount of spend. Have had several calls from "Excellent Life", displaying different numbers including 02036096500. Always ask for me by name. Sometimes they give an address and ask if it s correct, but don t do anything if you give a different address. First question is always "are you working or retired?". If I give a vague answer ("I m an enumerator, what would you call that?"), they go on to the next question, always "what is your age group?". They hang up when I refuse to answer. My guess is that they are collecting
