Caller (in a thick Indian / Asian accent) asked by name for a previous user of my number. When I said I wasn t that person and enquired as to who he was, he got very abusive and terminated the call. Almost certainly a scam of some sorts.

Today I have received my third consecutive call from these people in three days. Each call implied that my computer had been compromised. Todays call was the most aggressive so far. Because I refused to switch on my computer I was told that they would put a block on my access and that I will be billed for £200.

The individual announced themselves as Alpine Group but having recently received a call from another similar number last week, I told the female caller to STOP THERE! then hung up. Very rude, aggressive and annoying callers. Similar to most comments above. They ve hung up on me twice now when I ask them what they want. I run my own photography business and they seem to be trying to sell advertising. It seems to be an Oxfordshire number, with very strong Indian and sometimes west African accents. Block and don t trust these people.

Caller said she was from VirginMedia and claimed that someone had hacked my Internet. Wanted to show me on my PC. When I said her story was a scam and rubbish, she said my PC was causing hacking attacks, and my Internet line will be blocked.
Spent ages trying to get a list of all my previous cards/mortgages then promised an average of £1800 per claim, without saying what they were claiming for. Hung up on me when I refused to give my date of birth. Apparently they are regulated by the ministry of justice so I should trust them. Avoid!!!

You cannot be charged for answering a call. The numbers are spoofed by scammers and are from outside the UK so the TPS has no effect.
