Someone wants to know where you are and that it is you answering the phone. That is why you get these calls several times daily even if you have told you are not interested.

I answered a call from this number, and heard a male at the other end of the line with the sound of other people in the room. He didn’t answer immediately, and after a short while asked if I could hear him, to which I, possibly foolishly replied “Yeah, yeah”. The phone was not put down at his end, but there was no reply when I tried to communicate at which point I ended the call.

Automated tell me apaymant of £900 was about to leave my visa debit card and to press1 to stop payments, I don't have visa debit card.

I have received a call from this number a recorded message claiming to be the HMRC threatening to take action against me. There was an option to stay on the line and speak to an operator. Obviously I didn't. When tried to call back, receiver ended the call back.

Noted number and called back through different phone. Sounded like a recorded message from the network provider indicating a terms of service issue and potential out of country routing. Highly dubious. Do not answer.

The error message suggested I called a helpline (number stated 020) said to be Microsoft Security. I rang, lady answered (Indian/pakistan accent) lots of noise in the background, she wanted me to depress the windows and the letter R key on my laptop. was evasive when I asked what would happen. This is a scam number for "Electric Yorkshire". avoid at all costs, they overcharge and try to add extra hidden charges. Calling to cancel, they will refuse to and try to scam you out of giving them more money. Luckily I was wise enough to not give them a penny. Report and block their numbers, they don't turn up either.
