Two calls from this number with a recorded voice message claiming £700 has been drawn on our account to Amazon and further £2000 cash transfer, then a couple of number options to press to speak to someone. Needless to say, I hung up. Yet another time-wasting and potentially dangerous scam.

I am suspicious of this number because after receiving a possible ?phishing call I made a 1471 call to discover the number the call came from I was given this number, which I rang. It was answered by a man who told me he was in Kent and i told him why I had called his number but nothing else(my name or location) i suggested he should look into how this could have happened and that his line might be compromised somehow.

He asked my name and verified my address. Funny thing is, my electric bill is in a family members name. This was from a rude and abusive man with very poor English who claimed he was from carphone warehouse and when I said I wasn't interested he said he was also a police officer and was going to find out where I lived and beat me up, he was screaming abuse at me. This was entirely unprovoked as I am a very polite pensioner who never shouts and swears, I would recommend everyone to do as I have done and block this number.

Got a fake text from this number, claiming to be Santander. They said a large transaction was being approved, if this isn’t you, call the number After calling, the same electronic voice is used as Santander’s official line, they said “press 1 to speak with an agent” If you press 1, the line hangs up. Which I’m assuming should trigger a charge
