I got a call at 0920. A guy with an Indian accent introduced himself as Eric from the technical department of Talk Talk. Kept referring to me as Mr XXXX even though I m clearly female! Said there was a major problem with my router. I told him I don t have an account with Talk Talk and asked where he got my details. I called this number back as they left a partial number. It was a old Scottish lady who had missed a call and used the 1471 service that her our phone number, but we were out at the time, so scammers are using some technology to fool phone systems.

Scam call from HMRC claiming there is a warrant out for my arrest! Handy, since that gave me plenty of forewarning to run & hide abroad in my tax haven. Asked me for my NI number which I declined, then hung up.
