FRAUD SCAM!! This was an automated message initially asking if I'd authorised a payment for £600 to overseas. Transferred to a human who said the payment on your visa debit card, I asked which card, she replied your visa debit. I asked again which card, was told from your bank. Which bank? The bank you authorised the payment from. I said I have several banks so which one. She replied Halifax bank, when I said I don't bank with Halifax she hung up on me. Be careful folks!

Just received a call. When I answered, a beeped sounded, an automatic voice said "goodbye" and the connection ended. I called back straightaway and a woman, struggling to speak English, answered, telling me she was from HMRC. She asked me to verify who I was. I replied "you called me, you should know who I am". The remarkable thing is this is just one of a number of calls I ve had about a minor car accident I had about a year ago. My phone number was given to my insurance company ( a reputable company I ve always thought ) someone passed it on to these chancers. We talk about the rising menace of fraud and scams, this practise of selling on customers details has to stop. Whatever happened to the data protection act?

Foreign call centre calling regarding accident. Take their number down and just abuse rgem.
SCAM Automated call from "Amazon", confirming renewal of Amazon Prime for one year for £71 plus. Given options of "Press 1 for this, 2 for that." Of course I have not renewed an Amazon Prime membership - didn't have one to renew. I said nothing, pressed no buttons, and after about 30 seconds of silence the line dropped. It's likely they would have asked for my cc details so the could confirm/reverse the charge; I'll never know :-)
