there appears to be a large number of calls from the 0161 728 xxxx area, they all seem to be scams of one kind or another you should be very careful if you receive one. be on your guard.

SPAM Going by other reports it is a Bank Scam, claiming 2 dodgy payments on your account. But could also be the dreaded I'm calling from Microsoft - monitoring the worlds IP addresses and yours is being used illegally. Whoever they are block the number and relax. It might be good if you have your Banks fraud team number logged in the phones phone book.

Called and asked for very confidential information. I caught the scam and didnt give it to them. They are a danger to society and a threat to children. I am not free to reveal any more details but beware of this number.

This is an international call from another country, First Class Spam.

Fraud Phoned by phone no 01916919437 told an adviser on property then went on about insulation.told her to Google her phone number and be advised she was a scammer .In such a hurry to see this info she put the phone down on me.

This is an actual real firm's number. But the number has been taken over by some scammer who is contacting random people. I did not answer the phone in time, so rang back and the company said they had several people ringing back who had been approached by scammers. Awful for them to be used like this.

They are saying they are from BT, however the following is true (as I worked for BT for 36 years). 1 - BT do not ring you on a mobile number (unless and engineer has an appointment at your house that you know about). 2 - The phone is registered to Vodaphone, BT do not use any other networks for their own use. 3 - He could not give me my BT account number. 4 - He said he was from Millenium City London, this mobile number is located in Manchester! They knew my name and said they'd been authorised by the government to handle a legal case against FX Trading. I knew it was a fraudulent phonecall when they wanted ID and statements from me. My phone picked up that they were calling from Rome but the man clearly said he was working for the UK government. Very dodgy!
