Claiming to be from HMRC and saying I would be arrested if I didn't press 1 now! Needless to say I didn't press one, but it might scare enough people to do so.
I have had several calls from this number offering me a payday loan, the callers English is very poor and have used different names for the company they work for on occasion, definitely not a trustworthy caller.
American rocorded voice said they will turn off my internet by this evening and they were calling from BT. worrying

Number shown was a 01189 local number so i picked it up. No answer and the it hung up. Dialed 01471 to retieve number but, it actually was 018731006? meaning this was a scam caller.

The BeWise insurance company ignore tick boxes stating NO contact - they will contact you regardless. When you tell them to remove your details from their database, they still call the next year. The Ombudsman needs to investigate this company.

SCAM they want your sort code and bank account number to stop scam phone calls at a one off cost of £183:99, they call themselves DATA COMPLIANCE and give you a telephone number for Cardiff 0292 000 8716. This number calls me everyday at varied times, and has done so for several months. Occasionally, I answer, always with the intention of asking them to stop calling me, but there is only silence at the other end of the line for a few seconds before they terminate the call.
