SCAM: call received at lunchtime on 7.5.2021 to work landline. Caller said they were Emily from Virgin Media about my internet connection. Queried why calling as this was not my internet provider and told that Virgin Media responsible for security of the entire internet! Then said she was in. Virgin Technical Dept. When I said it seemed unbelievable that Virgin Media managed security for entire internet was asked why i hadn’t terminated call. Caller hung up and called me disrespectful!

Just received a call from this number now. A guy called James was the caller and said he was calling on behalf of my bank as I had apparently been in contact with them, which I haven t and he had my name also. It sounded like he was giggling and chuckling whilst he was reading out his spiel so I hung up. Will be keeping an eye out for this number calling again so I won t pick up.

I had a call from this number where a somewhat threatening female voice informed me that criminal charges were about to be brought against me. I'm a 74 year old female who, while maybe not quite fitting the description of an angel, has not committed any crimes, heinous or otherwise. Were I the type who was easily intimidated I might have pressed 1 to see further details but luckily I'm not so I didn't. It seems these companies are only doing there targets, As the customer says yes (with OVR function) they just deduct the amount from your account Debit/Credit Card. The biggest fool part is that they are not with there words and for this they have to pay now.
