My mobile phone rang and when I looked at the screen it was flashing red and the words 'SCAM CALL' also flashing along with an exclamation mark in a circle. Needless to say that the call was not answered.

SCAM. Woman with strong Asian (sounded Indian) accent purporting to be calling from Microsoft informing me of urgent high risk to my computer etc---. I hung up and on checking discovered the number to belong to A&M Todd, a flooring company in Burnley.

Fraud On Caller Display, this number looked like a London exchange. On answering, I got a recorded message saying it was something to do with bank security, followed by a message that was intended to frighten. I hung up, and have blocked the number. Others receiving calls like this might be taken in. What can be done to stop them?

SCAM Call from this number and again a male with a strong Asian accent. He knew my name and asked if I was that person. I didn't confirm but when I questionned him about who he was, he said he was calling from Health Department. When I asked him to define WHICH Health Department, he stalled. I said "you don't know, do you? There are many UK Health departments". At this point he simply hung up. I consider thiis a risk and potential scam.

This number called me outtanowhere, just ringing three times today. I blocked it.

It was about boiler cover, house hold cover for both gas and electric. Asked a couple of questions. He said that he was calling from London, when I asked him what the weather was like in India, and it would be set up today! I was called at about 11.35 am today with a recorded message saying that my card had been used to pay £700+ on Amazon and £2000 international money transfer, asking me to press 1 to speak to someone, which I did not do. I strongly suspect that this is a scam.
