This number was not answered by me but an automated voicemail message was left. The call purported to have come from HMRC and instructed that I should press1 to stop court action from being taken against me for taxes owed. Firstly, I do not owe any taxes. Whatever we think of the tax man, at least we can rest assured HMRC wouldn't call like that ... they'd send 5-15 letters first. As much as the bot message is amusing to listen to in its fake urgency and menace, there will unfortunately be people, who will get upset by this and fall for it ... DON'T!
