I received a call from somebody claiming to be from SSE. He wanted to talk about a new contract. He didn’t specify whether it was gas or electricity. I asked him to send your new prices by email. He seemed upset by this very simple request stating that it was impossible. I told him to call back when he had sent the email. He rang from this number 2 days later and came out with the same nonsense. He said he was Roger. I hung up and complained to SSE.
Robot call, says from Amazon fraud department. Usual rubbish about £700 suspicious transaction, press 1 to block the payment etc.
They seem to get numbers and call them, unsure where they get their private numbers from and the information or not on who may answer. PayPal phishing scam. Trying to get details and me to approve several fraudulent expenses on account.
Called purporting to be from EE and asked about renewal and if I'd like a free phone upgrade. Given that the phone in question is on a business contract and recently upgraded, I would deem this to be a scam. The caller hung up very quickly once I said I didn't want an upgrade.
