Supposedly from O2 UK - offering me a 40% reduction in call / contract costs. Foreign female / when I ask them to prove they’re O2 UK I receive official looking O2 UK texts with a code. I’m not convinced / so I hang up / block number / then check with O2 - await response.
SCAM Aggressive and rude repeat caller, claiming to be from an online trading platform. Using some outdated information and refusing the believe I wasn't who they thought I was. Quite funny really, as long as they don't manage to fool anyone.
This number called with a pre-recorded message to say there was an arrest warrant out for me and to press 1. Sounded like an American voice. Clearly a scam to scare someone to press 1 and who knows what that mey lead to.
Miss No idea who. Not Crewe phone number. Is Crewe area code, spoofed number. I ignored call. No voice message left. No text or email received either. Similar numbers have called before and I don't answer as end numbers after 01270 are not from within Crewe itself. I know as in Crewe myself. These are spoofed numbers calling landlines and mobiles in hope of catching people out if they know someone from Crewe and surrounding local towns that also use 01270 area code. Sadly this IS British gas I phoned them and they admitted that yes they do make presumptive appointments for smart meter installs with the onus on the customer to cancel them The appointment was also on my British Gas online account There is currently NO obligation to have smart meters installed Sadly you cant cancel the appointment online you have to phone them Ive not cancelled yet but put my details in an online complaint and instructed them to cancel it If need be Ill make the call before the appointmen

Left a voice mail in Chinese.

tried to call back but there's only music playing.
Had a few missed calls from this number. No voice mail left, so blocked number. They then used slightly different number so that is now blocked.
I received a text from this number saying my apple pay was temporarily deactivated, and a link to reactivate it. Upon clicking the link I was then asked for my name, address and date of birth, and then got suspicious when asked for my full card details. Quick look on google found it is a know scam. Beware.

Rehan Ali was recommended and everything went through smoothly. I did get confused with accessing my account as I tried to do it through British Gas online, who kept saying they did not have a record of me, eventually I twigged that I access the account through Britishgaslite.co.uk not British Gas. We are now waiting for a smart meter to be fitted. I have been given a date and a time rather than a day or half day slot, I just need to see if they turn up, but so far 5 star rating.
