They want you to download a program so they can take over yours computer, by luring with you earned a lot of money so they "just" verify you, you are, and it can absolutely not be done in other ways, such as driver's license or passports, even though the company they say they call from, and writes on their website that, THEY WILL NEVER CALL AND VERIFY PEOPLE

I have had approx 3 calls from EE and I am almost certain I will not be renewing with them when my contracts expires later in the year. Woman with strong Asian accent claiming to be from Opus Energy. As with other reports, claiming there was an error with MPAN number affecting the meter reading. Hung up and she called back annoyed and demanding to speak to the person responsible for the electric supply. Sadly for her that was me. In the current circumstances with energy companies going to the wall we can expect more of these pond life creatures creeping out from under their rock. Scamming scum.

I was called from 0121 554 8370 who claimed to be from virgin media stating that my internet had been highjacked from outside the property. When asking the caller questions she was not able to provide adequate information so I ended the call as I became suspicious as the questions they would have knowledge of by looking at our account details. If this was a genuine call from virgin media, I suggest they have the details of the account in front of them before they make the call.
Scam call telling my internet router needs to be replaced and would be disconnected in 4 hours. Was invited to press 1 to talk to them. Hung up.
