I have been telephoned this afternoon – apparently by EE – to tell me that I was getting a 45% discount on my bill for the next year? I was then passed on to a supervisor to confirm my email address – which I did. They then said that they would email me and I would need to change the password to EEdefault19: at this point I told the caller I would hang-up.

Housing maintenance scam? Called them back several times and calls were answered by different people each time. They then called me back and asked for my wife by her first name. This was a recorded message saying your credit card had been used, (no name, no card reference) for a payment to Amazon and a large payment to an over sea recipient and to press 1, to allow the transaction or 2 to speak to an advisor to stop the transaction. Using 1471 to check the caller number, the number given was a 16 digit number. 0179582197582587. This was definitely a SCAM call.

I had a call today from a South African sounding lady, from London number 020 8089 6127 said she was calling from a company called Teabag that got my suspicions up straight away, asked to speak to me by name, so she already had my name and phone number somehow.
