My phone picked up that they were calling from Rome but the man clearly said he was working for the UK government. Very dodgy!

My son with special needs got a barrage of calls from this number spoofing police calls that he got involved in a car accident on the M5, another call saying that they are bailiffs saying that they owe them £1,600. Incident reported to the police already. Stay away from this number. They hide using this number so you won’t see their phone number.
I just got a call claiming (falsely) to be from this number, claiming (again falsely) that it was BT Openreach (or something). Caller addressed me by my first name but that was all I could understand, the noise going on in the background (His) drowned out everything else he was saying. If you answer then the line is detected as 'a voice line' and will usually be logged or routed through to a sales person. You'll be called back later by some sales dude. They're usually trying to flog or get you to sign up for house insulation or some scam survey based on a government scheme. They're usually quick to say they're not selling, simply enquiring; surveying; etc.
