I was called by this number at 08:18 this morning by someone claiming to be "Amazon Prime" (recorded message) and invited to be transferred to cancel a subscription ('press 1'). The person then asked for my details and, when questioned, told me that it is not possible to contact Amazon directly or my bank over this. The conversation stank so I discontinued the call.
Had a voicemail from this no. (very scripted). Northern Gas & Power trying to sell energy. I don't think it's a scam (and if legit their reviews on trustpilot seem reasonable). That said it was an unsolicited sales call, and I don't look after the gas and electricity anyway!

They call us several times a day, every day, despite us being ex-directory. Complete harassment. They're supposedly a company that prevents nuisance calls but charge £20pm for that service - clearly a scam as they ARE they nuisance call!

But could also be the dreaded I'm calling from Microsoft - monitoring the worlds IP addresses and yours is being used illegally. Whoever they are block the number and relax. It might be good if you have your Banks fraud team number logged in the phones phone book.
I was caught out by this today. They claimed to be calling from O2. Luckily, I realised after the call ended and was able to change my account details before any damage was done. They came up as on my phone as "Netring" with a red flag by it.. I didn't answer... (never do if unknown/unexpected) So I googled "Netring" and the phone number correlates.. https://netring.co.uk/pages/support/ I'd say more marketing but to what end?? Steer clear.
I didnt answer because I was in bed and it was 9.30am saturday morning. Unrecognised number from a mobile phone. Rude awakening! If its important they will leave a message.
