when I picked up the phone, it went into a message, saying that I was called today by a financial advisor
2k secured funding for homeowners I my area to replace Windows and doors as part of an energy recycling scheme. Was unable to tell me who was providing this money, no details at all to give me and didn t know name of company as she had only just started there. Do not answer.
The caller asked to talk to my wife and when i asked for the name of the company he said EWT, I simply said that i had not heard of the company and he hung up. No reputable company would do that, there is no excuse.

This represents a new tactic in scumbag cold call companies operation. They employ “home workers” and install call routing equipment into their operators houses. That way the caller ID is of the home worker and much more difficult for blocking software to identify. This call was from a company claiming that my wife was involved in a no fault accident two years ago and was entitled to compensation. My wife has been dead for 8 years. They got told to F off.
An Indian woman answered and the number comes up international with the phone number underneath. Definately a scam number

Seems to be used for some telemarketing call center - this range of numbers 1618144xxx (common feature, they use more numbers of the same range) is mostly reported with PPI claims, financial services, insurance marketing. Just block it if not interested (I use the app from these pages, no problems). Folks did they call you with the same or something new? I really don't answer unknown numbers and don't want to call them back...
