SCAM / SPAM When I answered the call an automated voice told me that it was HMRC and I was being investigated for tax fraud. It said to press 1 to be taken to HMRC. I pressed 1 and a lady with an Indian accent answered saying she was HMRC and "how can I help you?" I explained that I had just answered the phone to this number saying I was being investigated and she asked for my name. We get 2 or sometimes 3 calls per day from this number. The call is a recorded message about "government funded boilers etc". At the end of the message it says "Press 2 to speak to one of our advisers. But when I do this it only saves the message to my voice mail. How can I get these nuisance calls stopped? Fraud. We get a lot of these calls proporting to be UK numbers. Line cuts off a couple of seconds after pick up. This is an auto-dialer checking that someone will answer that phone number. Between 2 and 24 hours later we will get a call from a different number with someone pretending to be from BT, Virginia Media, Talk Talk, Amazon.... Number now blocked
