Fraud A man with a heavy accent told me that someone tried to draw money from my account. He did not give a bank name or anything else. I asked him to repeat his first phrase that came without a greeting or any other polite introduction. Not his name, not an organisation. I interrupted him to tell him that I knew exactly what kind of fraud he was trying on me and he broke the connection at once. The number seems to be in the Manchester area.

I asked how they have my number and she said from a shared database of all UK providers, although this would seemingly breach GDPR for sharing customer's contact details and wouldn't make sense for the businesses to risk losing customers this way. Was an answerphone recording telling me I owed money to the Tax office. I blocked the number as I'm sure HMRC don't use mobile phones to make calls, and will find a conventional method of contacting me rather than a dodgy auto service.

Don't know who called me from this number. I jumped out of bed when the phone rang but I didn't pick up as I didn't recognise the number. It was 7:36 am ffs! Even the sun was still in bed where I live in Greater Manchester and I do't even know where Thanet is, never mind why someone from there would be phoning me at an ungodly hour. I highly suspect this was a scam call.

I first asked him to confirm my IP address (dynamically allocated) and he gave me something he made up - that didn't have all 4 sets of numbers. Sky have been asked about this and aware of these scammers.

Automated call Although not in my address book, number came up on my phone as being from Eastern Avenue Baptist Church and showed the address of 119 East Raod, Dagenham, Romford RM6 6YJ Automated message said I was being investigated and if I did not make contact with one of their officers, my National Insurance number would be withdrawn and then asked me to press 1 to speak to someone. Felt suspect.

19/01/23 at 15:42 Got 5 text messages on my mobile,introduced themselves as my eldest child,said that she had a little accident,that shes texting me from her friend's mobile (00447709082775), gave me this number 00447700161284 to text back to confirm.It said that she dropped her phone,that she is bit stressed out.asked me if i can help her with something and make payment for her.When I asked to proof its my daughter,no more texts received.

Looks like a scam pretending to be from Santander as it has a link to a website.

Its a scam call dont call this number back you unless you want to speak to a robot.

Definite scam. Claimed (falsely) to be Harry from Carphonewarehous3 in London calling because "we have a special offer on new phones today". I live in Scotland, he's calling from London claiming to be a big phone store. They would never ring me like that, nor you either. How could he have got my number legitimately? He immediately went into "what phone are you using?" Obviously looking to sound like he could choose an upgrade whilst scamming you out of the cost of the non-existent
