This number seems to be reported as Virgin Bank, Clysesdale Bank and lots of other banks, including Yorkshire Bank (as shown on my phone) my I don't have a Yorkshire Bank account. So I am very suspicious of this number, how can it be for many different banks?! I think it's spam!

Purporting to be from “Bank Security”, regarding unauthorised transactions. Select option 1 if I authorised 2 high cost transactions, press 2 to speak to customer support, who spoke with a strong accent, asking me for personal details. I hung up.

Fraud A friend of mine had money disappearing from her bank account, she's Burmese and her English isn't so good so I looked into it for her. Turns out it's a company called Florist-world.com that took 2 euro from her account then took 24 euro every 2 weeks. I finally found emails from them in her spam folder, they'd somehow managed to get hold of her debit card number and were taking 24 Euro every 2 weeks, the last email said that amount was increasing to 44 Euro. Caller claimed to be from EE customer service, told me I have a good credit rating and I was inline for an upgrade, I informed her I was not an EE customer so then she said I must be an O2 customer, I told her I wasnt and she then droppped the carrier on me as I was suspicious.

This is a spam number. They pester repeatidly asking you to authorise or decline large transfers from your bank account. They never declare what bank they claim to be. IT IS A SCAM. DO NOT FALL FOR IT. DO NOT PRESS OPTIONS 1 OR 2 AS YOU MAY BE CHARGED FOR A PREMIUM RATE CALL.

I have been telephoned this afternoon – apparently by EE – to tell me that I was getting a 45% discount on my bill for the next year? I was then passed on to a supervisor to confirm my email address – which I did. They then said that they would email me and I would need to change the password to EEdefault19: at this point I told the caller I would hang-up.

SCAM The caller was a recorded message suggesting they were from a Londoon Magistrate and stated that if I choose to ignore this information then my National Insurance number will be blocked and stop working. After another threat they told me to press 1 to speak to the officer in charge of the case. At which point I hung.

Call received on 7/10/22 at 1.22pm. Computerised voice, saying that it was from the inland revenue.

01189077601 called today totally silent before hanging up. Being a local call i dialed 1471 to see who called me. The number was in fact a mobile number being 074267249 in which case is has to be someone who is a scam merchant jumping on another phone line.
