My second call this morning from an 01257 number - different ones - both claiming to be a banking service who have detected suspicious activity on my account. They are both automated messages with the same female voice and both claim withdrawals from my (unspecified) account from the same places (Amazon and overseas) but quote different amounts. 01257 is my local dial code, which I suspect is meant to lend credibility to the call. It asked to preess 1 to delete or 2 to connect to an operative. I hung up

Caller said they were from O2. Said there was suspicious activity on my account, then a text turned up that looked to have come from O2. The text had a code number that they wanted to "prove I was the account holder. I'm sorry. This is an obvious scam. They'd use that code to hijack my account, change the address, and order as many high end phones and tablets as O2 would let them. This came up on the phone display as a name/number in my contacts list. Then an Indian voice spoke and told me I was a valued customer and drivelled on in broken dialogue. I put phone down on him. 1471 told me it was this number and the call has appeared in my WhatApp.
