DO NOT ANSWER. Or... If you do, do what I did, keep them on the phone for 10 mins then tell them you know its a scam!

Keep telling my terminally ill father that he rung them a year ago about investments my father does not recall this and my father would of asked my best friend for investment advice this is the fourth Time they ve rung us. I am a few days late with a payment to Very so the credit company (shop direct) repeatedly phone my home and mobile. They still ring even though I ve explained the situation and paid half the monthly amount and have agreed to pay the other half in a weeks time. I just don t answer the phone now.

They called my mobile and left a message for me to phone with meter readings (even though I sumitted them on-line in last 30 days). They get paid for each reading, without them collecting it. So my energy provider has increased costs(passed onto the customer) to receive something they already have. I ll save costs for me and my provider by submitting on-line.

Someone called me from this number and asked me if I was "my own name". I stupidly confirmed it and then confirmed my email address. They started telling me about an iPad that I had won. <> <> <> Then followed a lot of swearing on my part before they hung up. Next time, if someone asks who I am, I ll ask who they are before hanging up.

I know it was the Bank of Scotland as they were calling me about a specific query on my account, I had emailed them yesterday.... no cold calling, no upselling of products. just customer service.

SCAM

An Indian voice, named James !, confirmed my details claiming to be from the Telephone Preference Service and asked if I was still getting unwanted calls. I confirmed that I still get these and he informed me that I needed to update my details with them as it was about to expire. He then asked if I paid by direct debit - at this point I realised this to be a scam and ended the call.

Scam caller stating hmrc have a case against you, not true, if press 1 will be charged excessively. Should be hung and dried.
