Accident - robotic voice, used my first name, asked me about my "recent accident" (which I have not had) so I put the phone down.

When you answer your phone and if it s a number you don t recognise, DON T SPEAK JUST LISTEN! Wait for the caller to speak first and then decide whether to simply put the phone down. If it s a recorded message, it ll nearly always be a scam or a computer dialling a batch of numbers in sequence and trying to assertain if the number they have just dialled is a voice line. i.e. a private phone number. If the system recognises a voice line then that number will be added to a list for their agent to call you bac

Called today said he was Steve from TalkTalk and my internet connection was about to be shut off for 15 days. He would send a new router and cable to avoid this. He was about to ask me to follow instructions to re-set router, etc when I asked for proof he was from TalkTalk. He hung up! Funny though, we are actually in talks with TalkTalk about a new router and seem to get scam calls right after we speak to them!

SCAM - recorded message pretending to be from HMRC. Tax fraud had been committed in my name and to press 1 immediately, if not the police would stop by soon to arrest.
Had a call at 1221 today, 12 Jan 17 but caller left no message, so obviously a scam/spoof/marketing call. Tried ringing the number back but got a Sky Voicemail Service. Tried calling the number again at 1530 this afternoon, only to have an automated message saying the Voicemailbox was full & could not take any more messages. SCAM / SPAM Called this morning, and said his name is David, with a strong Indian accent. Claimed to be from my internet provider (didn't know who that was, when asked), but claimed to know that I was not getting the internet speed I should.
