Upon answering a call on the land line around 18:30 this evening, the caller hung up so out of curiosity I dialled 1471 (UK), the call back service and I pressed 3 on my phone to be put directly through to the missed call number. I didn t catch the receivers company name but heard a American or maybe Canadian Man s accent and instructions for extension required. Since I took out new car insurance 2 weeks ago I have been hounded by calls including from this number claiming to be a national service to help me get compensation on an accident 18 months ago.
Caller sais they worked for Microsoft and tried to take me to website that would download software on to my laptop. This is a scam and they are trying to load malware on to your machine. Do not listen to the caller!
