Called me twice so far today. Automated voice claiming to be from Mastercard/Visa, saying that £600 has been withdrawn from my account and to press 1 immediately, as my account has been compromised. Scaremongering and fraudulent. I hung up each time.

They call and ask you for a one time payment to support a magazine to go into schools regarding bullying. ONCE. ONE TIME ONLY. You do not sign a contract, you do not enter into an agreement. They then persistently call you and ask you for more money as apparently you have entered into a contract. Foreign voice from what sounds like a call centre but local number . Did not speak to them just put phone down .
Just called my landline. Male indian type accent - Slow speaker, used some strange (not common english) phrases, poor to understand what he was talking about. Something to do with BT landline costs. Talking about half price (or free) for next few months. He knew my postcode and clearly my landline number. I hung up at that point. I suspect a scam of some sort - but did not want to invest further time on it. A nuisance call.
