SCAM - Domestic Care Ltd. Claimed I had a warranty for cooker, fridge & washing machine & it was due for renewal at £229 instead of the £320 that I apparently paid last year (I did not). Caller, Asian lady, very persistent that I did have a policy & was due for renewal. Even quoted a policy number & that I'd paid by c/card (I didn't). this number rang me and then rang off when I answered. This is the usual pattern used by scammers piggy-backing someone else's number.

Brechin (Scotland) cloned number allegedly from 02. A scam offering 40% off your O2 account. - I know it is a 100% scam as (a) I have had one of these calls before and (b) I ceased to be an O2 customer 4 years ago. Suspect someone hacked their site or an ex-employee has flogged their data to scammers. Foreign guy said he'd send a special code in a text/email but to not divulge it to anyone - probably because everyone gets the same and they don't want you to compare notes!

Fraud - claimed to be welsh government doing a survey on employment but the gov know my household is not employed due to sickness and being a full time carer The only companies are HMRC and DWP you should speak to, and they rarely call you without a letter to inform. Or, a letter reccomending to call them to resolve an issue. DO NOT TRUST. They will try collecting personal information.

Indian call centre life insurance scam.

Spam. Was an automated message with threat that my internet is going to be disconnected. I have a BT line, so I put the phone down on it and then picked it up and waited for dial tone and then dialled 1572, which allowed me to block the last calling number. Not sure if that blocking facility works on other providers landlines. But worth a try. It's a neat facility.
