No message left on my answer machine. I did not respond. I’ve received several dubious calls from Wales numbers recently, cannot understand why.

Somehow they have managed to get money from me twice in two nights, one being a 3hr call at 22.57 costing 44.85 and another for at 01.57 for a 1hr call at 23.35!!!! Raging how can this be!! I was at work and never use my phone!! 02 are about to get a roasting!!My battery doesnt even last for three hours!! The 01786 STD code is for Stirling but this is no local number!

Our number is registered with the TPS. This call came at 09:50 on Monday. Recorded (or synthesised) Northern English (Huddersfield?) male voice. Claimed to be calling from Amazon about illegal/suspicious "activity on your account", as a result of which a charge of over £1,000 to "the card linked to the account" had been stopped. I was just called by somebody saying they were from UK Financial. The said they had a cheque for me for money i was owed from bank charges. They knew my address then asked me to confirm my date of birth. I told them i was not giving it to them as i had never heard of them. When i said this they hung up!
