Gumtree scam. They communicate via a Whatsapp account called "TOY" with a sunset profile picture. They'll pretend to want to buy something from you (even asking detailed questions). When it comes to payment, they'll want to use a courier from "Gumtree delivery", and they'll only make the payment using a link that looks like a gumtree link. Eventually they ask you to download anydesk, which is remote access software. Evidently their endgame is trying to obtain personal information. Block the number.

SCAM Apparently the bank wanted to talk to my nan about her bank cards, she hung up on these scammers.
This UK number called our home ph in Ireland, 3rd June 2021. As soon as I picked up, they hung up. Ever since one online trading firm got our number in Sep 2019, a multitude of competing online trading firms have been spam-calling us, and the harassment has become intense since April 20121. They either hang up when we pick up, or when they do talk and we say we're not interested and ask to be removed from their company's call sheet, they call again, daily, weekly. And they keep switching ph number.

SCAM call received from this number at 1130 on Mon 19/10/2020 stating “THIS IS A CALL FROM BRITISH TELECOM. YOUR LANDLINE AND INTERNET ARE ABOUT TO BE DISCONNECTED. PLEASE PRESS ONE”. I suspect that this is one of those calls which when you press “1” you will automatically be charged for a premium call. If you receive a call from this number, do NOT press 1 and block the number from your system.
