They probably instigate all the silent nuisance calls you receive so they can tell you that you are being annoyed by nuisance calls. So of course if you pay them they may stop making the nuisance calls. Otherwise known as a protection racket which is certainly illegal.

The man who rang me spoke with an indian accent and when I asked for his name and the address of the company he said he was called Robert Redford and calling from Microsoft in Leicester. I told him I was surprised by the call as I didn t have a computer and would like to trace where he was getting his information from so just kept firing questions in his direction until he gave up.

Called and then hung up. Blocked them but now they know that my number is genuine I guess I can expect more from different numbers. Shame there is no way to collate all the numbers they use from one and do a batch block.
