Carphone warehouse, allegedly. No idea how they have my number, never shopped with them. Have also called me several times from various other numbers. Usually get a call about once every fortnight.
Genuine call from Paypal regarding a negative balance
This number phoned me today and left a prerecorded message saying they were calling from the HMRC. They said it was time sensitive and that I should call back as soon as possible or face the legal consequences, (or words of that nature). I emailed all the real HMRC who emailed me back warning me that this was a scam, (which I already thought it was), and that I should not call back and beware of any further calls from this number. I thought I should share this with as many people as possible to warn them of

Asked me to confirm my number, then my name and address. My number is ex-directory and they got shirty when I confirmed that they had dialled me, maybe with a number-generator, so they should have it already
