It's a scam, don't whatever you do return a call. The real HMRC are asking people to report via email to: [email protected] include the number it was sent from (60886) and also the contents of the text. HMRC don't text you. Report immediately, that way there's more chance of catching these scumbags.

Received a text saying attempts to set up DD to gumtree for £1200- It appeared to come from the 'normal' Barclays text account. Tried the number, and was held in a queue.. so I rang off. And phoned Barclays - they confirmed it was not their number. They also pointed me in the direction of "Barclays Number checker" website. SCAM / SPAM Aisian sounding male, calling himself Jack, phoned. And said he was from Amazon Prime. 01621854369. We have had a lot of calls supposedly from Amazon Prime, in the past 3 weeks. Most were recorded voices. We are not with Amazon Prime. We are with TPS, and are ex directory. Can be reported to ico.org.uk

Line for shared costs, there are more similar numbers reported (just last 2 or 3 digits alternated) - so I assume this should be the same call centre. This seems to be some good working money trap, similar numbers are reported as robocalls - surveys, scam offers (in most cases some financial offers). For sure some general call centre. I recommend to block the whole 8432632xxx range... People don't fall for it. Did someone answer any number of this range?

SCAM / SPAM Claims you have defrauded the tax office and to press 1, evidently fraudulent as tax office don't utilise this form of contact.
