the caller said they were from virgin media stating my internet was going to be cut off telling me I was being hacked from the USA
I've got the following SMS from this number: Paypal: We need your help resolving an issue with your account. Please log in via https://paypal.case-id0223.com to confirm your identity and restore service. THIS IS CLEARLY SCAM AS THEY ARE TRYING TO GET YOUR LOGIN DETAILS TO THEN EMPTY YOUR BANK ACOUNT AS PAYPAL ACCOUNTS ARE LINKED TO YOUR DEBIT CARD AND THEREFORE TO YOU BANK ACCOUNT. BE WARY, DON'T CLICK ON THE LINK PROVIDED ON THE SMS IS A FAKE PAYPAL PORTAL.
A call centre, many calls could be heard o the background. But "we are not trying to sell you anything"..."are you in charge of the household, sir?" I ended the call after that question.
