Asked for me by my first name which I challenged as he did not know me and he went on to say it was a follow up call regarding an accident I d had in the last three years. Have blocked the call. This is the second call like this from a local number...I m guessing this is a new tactic.

Option at the end of the call to press 9 to have your number removed; however, I did that last week and have received the same call twice since then. An indian woman called me from this number saying she was a BT employee and could see from my account that I have issues with slow internet which I do. She said she needed me to run some diagnostics from my computer to check the issue my end. At this stage I felt it might be a scam so asked if I could have a number to contact her to validate that she was a BT employee. At that point she put the phone now on me.

Like everyone else on here, I keep getting phoned about a debt belonging to someone I ve never heard of. I phoned them back, and they agreed to remove my number from their system - but I ve just received another one. They are stressful and very inconvenient.

Have been rang by this number at least once a day for about 3 weeks - I normally miss the call as I don t have my phone on my at work. On the one occasion I picked up no one said anything on the other end when I said Hello then they put the phone down. I tried to ring back but it went the the guardian newspaper voicemail - I have no connection with the guardian so I don t think its very legit!

This number is British Gas - probably payment collections department. When you call it back, it goes to a main menu with a series of options to hear balance / pay bill.

Tel number 01751 621067 called my mobile number but wouldn't answer when I said hello and hung up? I tried to ring the number back but it doesn't ring?????
