SCAM - Silent call, possibly an auto dialler, disconnects in approximately 10 seconds. If I do not recognise the number calling or suspect it is a scam I pick up the phone but remain SILENT. Auto diallers tend to disconnect after approx 10 seconds of silence. Scam callers on the other hand launch into their scam script. Solution: ask them to wait while you answer the door, place phone on kitchen worktop, cover with saucepan, hit pan base with wooden spoon - enjoy!
