I keep getting calls purporting to be from British Gas - the distinctly non-Haligonian accented caller tell me that he is calling about my account and asks for my "account number". My response is that as he has my phone number and wishes to talk to me about my account, then he must have my account number already. He then informs me it is for "security". My response is that I am a BG customer, my account is up-to-date, so what is their problem with my account? Reply is that they cannot tell me without my

Attempted scam involving dubious Visa payments, two detailed of £900 and £247. Press 2 to query them and the first thing they ask is for your name, in a heavy foreign accent. Just hang up.
